Well the end of summer, as many school start seasons are, is a season of change and renewal.
When we live in a broken world there are times when life is messy. Some things do not make sense and the only thing to do is be patient in the season you are given. I am not great at this. I like to plan. I like answers. I like concrete. With that being said I have found a couple things very helpful in correcting my foundation when the world around is full of sadness, unknowns and difficulties. Try one or two...or all:
Go Outside.
This may feel elementary, but being outside in whatever elements can help us remember that life and this world is much bigger than this one smaller moment. I had a close friend tell me this idea is why she likes the movie Jurassic Park, "It's not like I'm being chased by dinosaurs."
Eat Nourishing Food and Stay Hydrated.
Sing More.
It is proven (I'm sure) that when you sing you are happier... there is science to support this... Where? I'm not sure that is a different blog post.
Connect with your Humans.
Especially the ones that encourage and challenge you.
Live with a ? of Curiosity.
If we ask with trust and hope, the question is curious. If we ask with fear and panic, the question is scary. I strongly feel that we can choose to live reliant. We are broken and in need of saving. But we are saved, and that is why we do not need to fear the broken world and it's challenges.
I'm imperfect at this and I have real moments of spiral and fear, but when my perspective is right, it is easier to align my day to day outside of the realm of panic and fear.
